Linien, Schichten, Flächen, vergleichbar mit geologischen Formationen, Diagrammen, Schriftsystemen oder grafischen Notationen.

Buch wie Großdrucke beruhen auf Collagen, die in den Jahren 2017-2019 entstanden sind. Ausgangsmaterialien sind Zeitschriften im Standartformat, die vertikal geschnitten wurden. Angelehnt an die Technik des klassischen Filmschnitts wurde hier bewusst „vor“ der Handlung geschnitten: Individuelle Charakteristika, Aktion, Schrift, Zeichen sowie inhaltliche Informationen wurden konsequent ausgespart. 

Im Entstehungsprozess der horizontalen Montage treten die einzelnen vermeintlich neutralen Elemente in eine nicht vorhersehbare Interaktion. Aus der trivialen Schichtung einzelner Lagen entstehen ästhetisch aufgeladene Konglomerate, bilden sich eigenständige Atmosphären bzw. Systeme, die dem Betrachter eine Art „Lesbarkeit“ bzw. Rhythmik vortäuschen.

Die Verarbeitung über den Reproduktionsweg ist zum ursprünglichen Medium kohärent. Die Bildspuren werden verdichtet, plakativ überdimensional vergrößert und bleiben umso mehr das, was sie sind:

Lines, layers, surfaces, comparable to geological formations, diagrams, typographic systems or scores.



Both the book and the large prints are based on collages that were created between 2017 and 2019. The starting materials are magazines in standard format that have been cut vertically. Based on the technique of classic film editing, a conscious cut was made here “before” the action: Individual characteristics, action, writing, characters and content information were consistently left out.

In the creation process of the horizontal montage, the individual supposedly neutral elements enter into an unforeseeable interaction. From the trivial layering of individual layers, aesthetically charged conglomerates emerge, independent atmospheres or systems form, which simulate a kind of "legibility" or rhythm to the viewer.

The processing via the reproductive path is coherent with the original medium. The traces of the image are condensed, magnified in a striking, oversized manner and all the more remain what they are:
